Tethos
Description
Honey-bee-like insectoid servants that live in Lanumon. Thethos were created by the Sylveran. They were engineered to be sentient, but only after numerous attempts to create non-sentient servants failed to produce acceptable chefs. Also these early prototypes had a bad tendency to leak their sweet, but sticky and messy, honey-like secretion while going about their tasks.
Like bees, Tethos communicate with each other primarily through a sort of dance. Their vocal chords are reserved for speaking with their masters. The typical penalty for Tethos caught speaking to each other rather than dancing at each other is to be sent to a milking room for a time where their aforementioned secretions are gathered and bottled for use as a sweetener and condiment. This process is very uncomfortable for the Tethos involved and requires that various tubes be jammed into its honey tracts. Indeed being sent to the milking room is the standard punishment for any minor misdoing.
As products of genetic engineering they lack the capacity to reproduce themselves. They have been known to describe their creators as "nice but oppressive."
They have been known to form secret cults that worship the Silver Star as their true master whose wishes are carried to them in the orders of the Sylveran. In behavior they are identical to non-Silver Star worshipers.
Notes
The Tethos are not to be confused with Tethys, the adult water Elemanifestation.
