The Wonders of Rothgar: Carrion: The Marksman Designer's Guide: What We Did And Why We Did It
This 38-page book was published six months after the release of the Carrion: The Marksman set of Wizbits Elemenstor Battle. It details their design decisions of each individual card, along with a full collector's guide and image spoiler of the set. The book was available only with purchase of a full box of the set (MSRP $100), which contained a coupon to send in to the manufacturer with 36 booster pack wrappers and a money order for $10. The book was notoriously slow in arriving, and the "Wrapper Redemption" program was considered a miserable failure, however, the book was rather interesting if you managed to get it, containing information regarding every single one of Rothgar's titles, most of which is not published elsewhere. There has been some discussion as to if this rather rare book should really be considered cannon due to it's rather utilitarian prose, although lacking any better source of information regarding the incredibly popular Rothgar of the Hundred Titles it continues to be the go-to source for Rothgar fans and thusly a very popular collectors item.
I found my copy (which I used to fill in most of Rothgar's titles) in a flea market for a couple of bucks, but I hear that copies in good condition are starting to fetch upwards to 500$ on eBay. Does anyone else have a copy or is it really that rare? - Ooknabah
I found a magazine at a used bookstore that had the parts regarding Rothgar himself and his 100 titles reprinted by Bosley (a semi-indie magazine printing company that does a lot of independent fan-guides - recently they've done a lot of YuGiOh crap). It also had a full listing for the Hundred Swords of Sepathok. But here's the thing - part of the magazine was missing, and the according to the cover it was a guide to the "Three Famous Hundreds of Battal". I've been wracking my brain as to what the last hundred could be, but I'm at a loss. - Zeta
Well there are "hundreds" of item laws, but that is kind of a stretch. Do you have the name/issue number of the magazine? The reason I'm asking is because my copy of the book is falling apart and I'm wondering if I might be missing a couple of pages. Maybe tracking down a copy of that magazine of yours would be a little cheaper then trying to out-bid a legion of insane Rothgar fanatics with more money then sense... Okay, I'm just jealous that they are richer then me. -Ooknabah
It was "Bosley Elemenstor Collector Magazine Issue # 11". Its got awful art of Vaxin the Tiny on the front, dressed up in a sailorfuku. Its kinda obvious this was targeted towards the preteen Wizbits set. Let me tell you, there's some awful stick-figure art in here. I think the magazine was only published till the last season of the Wizbits finished airing in the US. - Zeta
You know, that sounds kind of familiar. I had a bunch of those magazines that a friend of mine gave me when they decided they wern't into ELotH anymore, but it all got thrown out after a flood a few years back. Just think, I might have had it under my nose the whole time! -Ooknabah
Speaking of the "Three Famous Hundreds of Battal" I seem to remember it being mentioned in a more common source. Unfortunately I don't remember where nor do I remember what the hundred was. -bfg00-
Was that the 100 decendants of Ronard thing, tracing the line between ronard and ronard the medium? -Tim
That was it. Thanks for reminding us. -bfg00-
