The Accursed Lake
Originally a large and profitable spica quarry, in year 3,743 (TMSK) the quarry filled with water after an underground spring was tapped into by the errant miner, Thule Runderkrust. By year 4,020 (TMSK) the body of water had come to be known as The Accursed Lake, the waters were rumored to be infused with some of the properties of spica, and thus were perilous to navigate, let alone consume.
The steely courage of the Ferry Men (not to be confused with Fairy Men) of The Accursed Lake, and their skills at raftery, were renowned throughout the twelve realms of Antior.
The Unsundered, Harbinger Portent, was one such ferry man for several years as a young man.
The lake is just south of the Grotto of Woe, the original spica mine of which the quarry was originally a part.
Discussion
Tim | Due to the known affects of spica on timenes, it's possible that these dates are different in different reference materials. I mention them because they are coupled with the early stories of Harbinger Portent told in the "Harbinger Portent: Explored" issue of Epic Hierarch Monthly. |
