The Elemenstor Saga

Back to Disputed Pages

I'm not totally convinced that the amounts and some of the details on this page are right. Unless somebody mis-stated the figures?

Yeah, sounds right to me Terraxos. Go ahead and clean the page up if you can. Dan

I don't think it's just the figures that are wrong, either. I believe the movie series being referred to here is actually that of Chronikles of the Elemancers, the much-derided fantasy saga that's widely considered to be a ripoff of ELotH:TES. The fact that this author confused the two just shows how closely the authors of the Chronikles (and its movie series) copied the Elemenstor Saga, and I'm still hoping they get sued for it. As far as I know, despite the various attempts to film the Elemenstor Saga over the years, no one has actually succeeded (apart from the Japanese ElamenSTAR movies, and the rarely-seen Wizbits movie of the 1990s). See the page on Wizbits: The Movie for more details, and feel free to correct me if any of the information on that page is wrong. -Terraxos

I agree completely. I see this as nothing more than a crude attempt by the current owners of rights to 'Elemancers', BS Marketing (Europe), to garner interest in their latest release, the seventh in their 'Cronikles'. I did hear a rumour that Christopher Lee was in talks with those who represent Mr Brahe about playing the part of Grimfleur in a live-action movie, though you'll all know these rumours surface every 2 or 3 years. Still, one can't help but hold one's breath a little... - Lvl27

I can confirm that no Elemenstor Saga film has ever been penned. I was doing some research into who owns the movie rights for my uncle, and they've never been sold and no official movie has been made. - X.

Wow, you guys are absolutely no fun.

After some research I found that the orignal figures relating to this film series were off by various amounts. The correct rights payment was found to be only 12 million and 30 cents, not 12 billion and the box office takings were only 300 million as opposed to 30 Billion. I can only assume that the production company mistated these figures in the hopes of boosting its share price, future ticket sales or dvd sales. I hope that these figures are now correct, but please change if more information is found

Just saw on Ain't It Cool News (I'll post link later) that Uwe Boll may have gotten rights to future movie rights of The Elemenstor Saga. I for one would welcome our new movie director, as I think his previous works reflect the same work ethics and production values that have always gone into ELotH : TES. -Dev

I'm confused by the reference to Richard Harris as playing the part of "Elemenstor" and being replaced by Van Der Beek. I had thought that Harris played the Role of Dogus and Van Der Beek replaced Ben Affleck in the role of Felthar when he dropped out after the last flick. If you recall there was some drama concerning what they would do for the role of Cubby since James switched characters. Let's just hope the rumor that they're going to go CGI and hire Robin Williams to do the voice over is just a rumor- the emotional depth of Cubby could never by captured by that soulless hack. Anyway everyone in Hollywood must be fighting over the role. Remember all those months that Leo Dicaprio was photographed all over town wearing an Oakwood T-Shirt - Istislah

It's not that complicated. Richard Harris died after they filmed two scenes, then he was replaced by an actor nobody is familiar with, but they kept Harris in the first two scenes in the final cut. Everything else you refer to are just rumors.

This issue seems to be resolved, as no one has commented here in some time. I'm moving this page to the archive. ~Lucres
