The celebrations of Battal are many, and herin lies some confusion. Which festival it was that Rothgar went to that earned him this title has been lost to time, and while many have attempted to peice together the sparse clues that exist, there is still much doubt. This may be in part because the clues are simply:

 

  • Rothgar got really really drunk at a festival
  • The festival took place around Midsummer Night.
  • There were windows relatively near to the festival.

 

Frankly, due to the general poor planning of all festivals, these criteria could fit any festival, and in the end it doesn't really matter. Rothgar went to a festival, okay?
