Tuck Nutgather

Regent of the Dim Elves, ruling from the capital of Dwimelvan’astlevania. Wielding the Regent's Scepter, which is in fact merely an unembellished Iyorn rod, Tuck Nutgather was short and plain looking, even for a Dim Elf. Being as few of the Dwimelvan’tesal (as the Dim Elves refer to themselves) have any political leanings at all the selection process for Regent is rather unique.

A list of all able bodied Dim Elves that are residents of Dwimelvan'astlevania and are of age is placed in the town square, on public display for a month. During that time, next to the list hangs the Grease Pen of Excusal on a length of twine. Any elf who is certain that they would not like to be regent may during this period strike their name from the list.

After the public display, the list is gone through alphabetically, with each individual on the list having a 50 year reign.

In the 43rd year of Tuck Nutgather's reign, a mighty army of Vampyre Elemenstors lead by Gunter the Flick appeared at the gates of Dwimelvan'astlevania. They proceeded to build a mighty fortress outside of the city gates. They amassed an army so large and fierce that even the Dim Elves could see that such a force immediately outside of their fair city was probably a sign of impending doom.

Tuck Nutgather, consulting the Leaflet of Regal Powers, which was his guide in these unusually trying times, recalled the Falconriders from the northern marches, and kept them within the gates, waiting for the inevitable attack.

When the day came, a fighting force marched forth from the dark Vampyre fortress the likes of which no Dwimelvan’tesal had ever seen.

Tuck had been making a pot of his well known Gathered Nut and Bean Soup when Polly Whittlestick, his neighbor, peeked over the fence to his back yard and told him that the Vampyre horde was on the move.

He turned again to the Leaflet of Regal Powers, rereading the bullet point which said, "In times of war, the Regent should dispatch the regimental force of the Dwimelvan’tesal Fl'etchl'wadir."

This sentence had been his bastion to cleave to in these trying times. Were it not for this single sided, double spaced, large print ancient document codifying the laws and wisdom of his people, he would indeed be lost.
