Underhell

The plane of the tormented dead. Often souls wind up here when they are unwanted by their deity, due to extreme the volation of the set forth moral code adhered to for the followers of said deity. An unlucky few souls end up here just because of the manor in which they were killed, regardless of their religious assignations and affiliations or the way in which they lived their lives. Beings destroyed by an egrigous overkill of magic are said to be blasted directly into Underhell, the most terrible fate one can meet on the battlefields of Battal.

The Underhell itself is a series of eight circular platters, each approximately the size of Mandleclang, stacked vertically and connected by a long winding spiral staircase, the spindle in the center, running from top to bottom.

Several Deities make their permanent home in the Underhell. Saturkaz, Dwarven goddess of cavern depths is said to reside on the lowest level, guarding the door which supposedly leads into passages deep under Blackest Minathok. Logok, from the Elfin pantheon, is said to live in a palace made from putrid bone on the top level. Kalechio, the Thousand-Armed Death Goddess, is the guardian of the spiral stairs, and no one passes from one level to another without first negotiating with Kalechio, and offering something in trade.

One way flowing passages known as the Flumes of Light connect the Temple of Death to the Underhell, but little is known about their nature.
