WTH!

Words which are most likely attributable to Loltragg the Confused. Though he was attempting to be anonymous at the time, his intense confusion is quite enough to identify him positively. Like most things related to Loltragg, his quote is quite confused and confusing. Loltragg apparently ran into the local pub one day wearing a paper plate tied about his head with twine, bearing a bright yellow smiley face drawn with yellow and black crayons, and exclaimed in a shocked and bewildered tone:

WTH!

UNINTELLIGIBLE

What is this place?? Did I just UNINTELLIGIBLE a huge flaw/mistake??

One can only assume that the first unintelligible portion is some form of peculiar confused explitave, but nobody heard it clearly in the pub. One can also safely assume that the second unintelligible part must be something along the lines of: "make", "cause", or "create". We shall never know for sure though, because Loltragg for some reason spoke that word (or phrase) through a kazoo.

What is clear is that Loltragg was (as usual) quite confused, and apparently thought that he had done something wrong. One of the locals in the pub was heard to have said "Everything is fine, Loltragg, everything is as it should be. Be at peace.", which apparently settled him somewhat. Loltragg then walked slowly out the door mumbling somthing sinister about chickens, as often was his want.

This was one of Loltragg's more clear headed days, so several learned persons have tried to analyze it to make some sense of it. This is the reason that anyone actually bothered to take note of this event. Most people say that this is a fools erand, because attempting to make sense of anything from Loltragg's lips is fraught with problems.

A few of the main points of interest revolve around the pronunciation of the above quote:

  1. Loltragg pronounced the "WTH" as the three independant letters "W. T. H."
  2. Both of the occurences of "??" were pronounced "Double-question-marks"
  3. Loltragg pronounced the "/" as "Forward slash with no space[s] (sic.) on either side!".
  4. The brackets in the previous pronunciation, were actually pronounced "Open-Bracket" and "Close-Bracket", respectively.
  5. "(sic.)" was pronounced as "sick" and hissed through clenched teeth while covering over the crayon mouth on the paper plate with his hand.

All of these things are quite confusing. As to the meaning of the "W. T. H.", most speculate that he, for unknown reasons, was trying to shout the initials of William the Straight, but for some reason confused the letter S with the letter H. Obvioulsly, there are less confusing explanations, including three people in the town where he lived which happened to have the initials "W.T.H.", one of which had been his closest friend since childhood. However, when dealing with Loltragg, the assumption should not be made that he was trying to communicate some obvious concept, rather one should begin with the assumption that he was "simply confused".

The pronunciation of the "??" and "/" in the quote have lead to more speculation. Some believe that he was in fact hoping that somone would write it down, and wanted them to be sure to get it right (In which case, he was eerily correct). Others say he was confused and that he thought that he was writing it down, but instead was speaking aloud. And yet others simply say "What does it matter anyway? He was obviously confused."

After its appearance in the scene described above (from Book 4), The phrase WTH ! became something of a catchphrase among fans, often followed up by rambling where the inline explicit speaking of the punctuaction of the rambling is included in the rant.
