Wallace Arden

Wallace Arden was a Water Elemenstor alive during the Rise of the Elemenstors period and was the half-brother of renowned Moistener and provocateur Rlex Aogan. An excellent student, and charismatically handsome young man, Arden became the de facto leader of a league of skilled Moisteners soon after his graduation from the Cerulean Citadel in 24,600 (TRotE). It was shortly after this that he met 20 year old Fire Elemenstoring prodigy Frannie Firetongue. Their mutual attraction lead them to convince their peers that Ice is the natural enemy of Fire and Water, and therefore they should join forces to form The Steam Coalition. The relationship was a successful one, and the two were eventually married in a lavish ceremony.

Wallace's Dark Secret

Wallace was almost not accepted to the Cerulean Citadel because at a young age he had used his untrained abilities to kill a man. The man was Rroct Scrosebug, the "Platinum Hexologist". Rroct was a nebbish more concerned with ensuring that copy writers remember both R's at the beginning of his name than the safety of those around him. He was demonstrating his "abilities that no one else has ever possessed" (in reality, he was a simple Quicksilver), in the town of Slishpoy. Wallace was with his mother shopping in market near the town square when they saw the commotion in the square.

Rroct was using his abilities to manifest huge Silverstone spikes, which would thrust up from the ground all around a group frightened villagers as Scrosebug laughed and praised himself. Arden, whose knack for Elemenstation had never yet manifested itself, later recalled a feeling of outrage against the man that continued to build and intensify as they watched helplessly. Finally, Arden heard a tremendous "TONG" inside his head as a huge torrent of water rushed from his clenched fists and pounded Rroct to the pavement, killing him.

Ultimately, the village elders agreed that Wallace had probably saved at least one life that day, and the Cerulean Citadel agreed that the act was justified so there were no formal repercussions for the lad; However, the event was the most traumatic of Arden's young life, and he remained silent about it for many years.

Other Notes

  • At age 44, Arden was the target of Door Seven and a Half for a fateful 30 minutes.
  • Wallace possessed a dog-eared copy of the sixth edition of Mother Nancy's Fancy Cookbook, which he used to produce delightful pastries and pies, for which he was well known.
