Wands

Magic devices which channel a primal elemental force. Wands wield tremendous power in even the most unskilled of hands, and in the hands of a practiced Elemenstor, they are mightier still.

The purpose of creating the wands was twofold, for in addition to massively amplifying an Elemenstor's power, wands are able to manifest themselves as weapons of pure energy for use in close combat--without requiring any of the wielder's power. This is especially helpful when, for whatever reason, the wielder's ability to strike gears has been impaired, or when the full might of the wielder's gears is simply not enough to defeat a foe.

Also, there is something undeniably awesome about powering up a flaming energy sword or an electric quarterstaff or a glowing icepick and putting the smack down on your enemies.

The weapon manifested seems linked to the wielder's personality. Most of the time, an energized wand just sprouts a blade from its tip, made of appropriately colored energy. However it is not unheard of to see Grand Elemenstors manifest axes, maces, and a host of other, even more exotic weaponry, as seen in ElamenSTAR Episode 411. In every case, the wand itself does not change shape or form, instead incorporating itself as a part of the energy weapon--usually the hilt or handle.

The techniques for constructing wands was only ever known by one man, the High Elemenstor Howt Standey, and after his death, the art was lost and forgotten, so each wand that exists is precious and unique. He never made two wands for the same element. Since his passing, it has become tradition for the Grand Elemenstor of each element to be denoted by their possession of the wand for that element, a tradition started by the Four Underdogs.

The Lesser Wands, not of the Grand Elemenstors

These wands are not crafted by Howt Standey, and are not as supremely powerful, reliable, or easy to use. None the less they are relatively powerful and also unique and crafted through means which are no longer known. These lesser wands are also often referred to as "Not-Wands."

A Note on The Song of the Sorcelator

Many fans have noted that the wands of The Song of the Sorcelator are rather similar to those of the (infinitely more epic) Elemenstor Saga and point to the fact that the Sorcelator Grimm Shado even wields two wands in that series. We'd like to point out that this is not cool... in fact... it's completely lame... In the Elemenstor Saga, wands are so rare and unique that nobody... nobody... would have two of them. And that's what makes the Elemenstor wands so much better.
