Way of the Wok
The Way of the Wok is one of the many techniques that Alton Longsword, the first Warrior Chef, mastered in his quest for greatness. It originated in the Wang Kingdom, where chefs for the often-violent leaders feared for both their lives and the integrity of their cuisine. They wished to learn to defend themselves, but also had to contend with the fact that, should their cooking suffer, they would be in even more danger. With this in mind, they developed the Way of the Wok. Utilizing a wok (a sort of pan), these chefs were able to cook food of exceedingly amazing quality, and also defend themselves against all manner of aggressors. Training for hours each day, alternating between cooking and fighting, the followers of the Way would painstakingly study under masters of the craft: loud, rhythmic chants of "Wok This Way" rose from the training fields, as chefs strenghtened their bodies and their cuisine under the tutelage of the greatest. The Wok Masters would later be eclipsed by the Warrior Chefs, but were still a formidible force. Short Fry, one of the early Battle Chefs, was the son of Small Fry, the great Wok Master.
The unofficial leader of the followers of the Way of the Wok is known as the Iyorn Chef. The Warrior Chefs pay homage to the Wok Masters in their Kitchen Stadiation, in Teflonicus.
