Wet Party

The Wizbits, Episode 101

Aired 14 September, 1999

Summary

When Skip and Penny need to raise a few coins for the gang's First Journey of Wizbang, they turn their budding powers of Elemenstation to winning the Umpteenth Annual Poleboat Open -- but Warchief Bogg and his cronies have other plans, and it's up to Myrtle the familiar, Penny's Gnarled Land Squid, to save the day.

Moral

Penny: Do you sometimes feel weak and dizzy? Do you ever cough a lot even when you aren't sick or tired? Do you sometimes see large red red things in the toilet after you go number 2, and hurt real bad? You might want to see a doctor.

Skip: This also goes if strange things come out of any part of your body! But ask an adult about what you have before getting too hasty. Sometimes the body goes through "changes" as you get older. But that's something for another time!

Notes

This episode continues to hold the top spot of all Wizbits episodes in popular file-sharing programs by an almost 100-to-1 ratio. Fans generally feel that this episode is sub-par, at best, and that the transfers are likely due to the episode title and summary, which frequently appears in search engine results as:

Wet Party Wizbits: Penny raises a few c-.

It is unknown exactly why the first "moral" of the series concerns such an unpleasant subject; James Langomedes argued "It's just practical."

An unusual first episode, Lander and Zula do not appear at all. In the Japanese episode they had an independant subplot which in the US release was replaced with looping footage of Penny and Skip poleboating. A single episode carrying parallel stories that do not tie together until the next episode was viewed as "too experimental" for conventional children's programming.

Additional filler footage was added in the form of original animation for the american version which adds a bumbling competing pole boat captain, the Fairy Godfather.
