Wizbits Halloween Spooktacular

The Wizbits, Special 302

Aired 29th October, 2001

Summary

In this three-segment special, The Wizbits engage in various Halloween hi-jinx.

  • The first concerns the Wizbits and their adventures trick-or-treating. All goes well until Lander and Zula find that the apples they have eaten contained razors; the rest of the segment follows their efforts to seek revenge before they expire from internal bleeding. In the end the Wizbits find their foe, Razor God Moo Maa, but cannot defeat him. All four die in battle.

  • The second segment is follows the Wizbits as they visit a haunted house on a dare. The ghosts, goblins and other nasties in the house prove to be too much for the Wizbits, who are picked off one by one until only Skip is left. After several minutes of trying to escape on his own, Skip too is killed.

  • The third segment is about a Halloween party attended by the Wizbits that is attacked by demons and monsters. The Wizbits predictably defend the party, but are beaten back at every turn. Before long all of the party guests have been killed (and, it is suggested, consumed), and the Wizbits resign themselves to their fate.

As original envisioned by James Langomedes, this episode would feature the death of the Wizbits in graphic detail, custom animated in the studio. However, due to both the budget and concerned censors, these deaths were largely left to the imagination and made from edited Japanese footage.

Moral

The moral in this episode consisted of a long, unmoving shot of The Wizbits, dead, on a barren field in the middle of nowhere. A crow lands and begins to peck at Skip's eyeball.

Notes

  • This episode is considered non-canon, if only for the fact that the Wizbits die at the end of every segment.

  • James Langomedes reportedly enjoyed working on this episode, because it gave him a chance to "do some really dark shit".
