Wrack

The Wrack discipline of Dark Elemenstation was originated by the famed Death Elemenstor and one of The Twelve Scourges of Battal, Radwrack the Black. It is less common than its sibling Witherance, for in mastering this dark art the practicioner must sacrifice such vast amounts of their physical being, and so only those willing to bring themselves to the brink of self-destruction may achieve true domination. The Wrack discipline is extremely difficult to master, requiring all three facets of Dark Elemenstation. Blood provides the mental access needed to drive the hallucinations and induced pain, Unlight fuels the physical draining and damage, and The Unspeakable provides the outright insanity that confuses the victim into the total loss of their faculties. Through this approach, the caster is able to gently maul every front of the victim's body and psyche.

Masters of Wrack are the artisans of pain, the sculptors of torment. Though they may appear withered, frail, and barely able to rise from their well-padded chairs, their very gaze can send legions of soldiers into unspeakable agony.

The CCG Card

Wrack is used to power both the Tremulence ability (spend 1 Maga point to paralyze 3 target enemies for 1 turn) and the Searing Tendons enchantment (spend 3 Maga + 3 Health to drain 7 health from target player, target player regains 1 health at the start of his next 5 turns). The Beta edition of Elemenstor Battle didn't specify the maximum number of times a player could cast Searing Tendons during a single round, which created an easily-exploited strategy whereby a player could cast Transient Growth to gain 12 health, Wrack Reflux to spend 6 of those health to gain 9 Wrack, and then cast 3 Searing Tendons to drain 21 health from a target player, almost always eliminating them from the game. Later editions updated the card to restrict it to one use per turn.
