Peasants

Peasants are the smelly and unsightly people that do all the boring stuff that makes Battal go round. They farm and build and die, all so other people can do Epic things. In fact, as decreed by the Peasant's Guild, if anything epic ever happens to a peasant they can no longer be a peasant. After this happens the fortunate become adventurers; however, the majority become low level brigands that are killed en masse by people who matter.

Peasants are an ignorant folk. All of their knowledge comes from legends and rumors. They are excedingly fond of burning witches, and are frequently set on fire due to the attacks of Burnanitors. The only cool thing about peasants is that those who work in moist and trench-y places get to wear trenchcoats, and that some of them get to stand near cooler people from time to time.
