Blood Fever

Blood fever is a rare but deadly plague in which one's blood becomes immensely itchy. On its own, blood fever is a mild disease that is theoretically capable of being overcome by bedrest and plenty of sleep; however, because blood fever is SO. DAMN. ITCHY. death is almost assured as the victim tries to scratch his own blood, with messy and tragic results.

As blood fever is spread through the air from exposed blood, it spreads like wildfire until only the most iron-willed members of the community are left. Some see blood fever as a necessary evil, as many who have survived blood fever go on to be powerful Elemenstors or unusually outspoken peasants.

Attempts to cure this fever with increased quantities of cowbell have met with variable success.
