ElemenstorLance

After the "success" of the ELotH: TES - Pen and Paper RPG in 1997, Realmworlds Publishing and Black Fox Games decided to "Strike While the Gear Was Hot", and flood the market as much as possible with "Lore" to feed the masses of RP'ers that were bound to multiply at the trough of their creation, slaking their appetite on the hash and tripe of their imaginations.

The result was not only a great number of companions and manuals to supplement the RPG, but also a volume of books about the Realm of Battal, known as The ElemenstorLance Series. Little is known about the authors of these books. Due to their poor quality, and often predictable storylines, it is largely speculated that the authors are none other than Holhik and Krakins. Others have pointed out that this was quite infeasible, as they seem to actually have been published faster than anyone could read them.

In 1999, TSR sued Realmworlds over the series, claiming that their model of storytelling had been incredibly plagiarized, even down to the very title and events of their imaginary world. Realmworlds' lawyers countered by asserting that TSR were a bunch of douchebags who exploited and easily manipulated fanbase by turning out reams and reams of printed douchebaggery, and that such a strategy was by no means fucking proprietary (this is of course, paraphrased). Judges agreed and TSR's lawsuit failed.

The books stayed on the shelves and continued to sell, much to he befuddlement of fans and booksellers alike.
