Harpy Coal

A devastating magical fuel supply found in the Westrenn Coast region of The Sickle, harpy coal is a toxic source of hallucinagenic and mutagenic magics. Burning the coal results in massive energy output, but the smoke belched forth by the coal creates bizarre side-effects in the atmosphere, including strangely-colored skies and sunsets, a warping of buildings, and certain kinds of mental destabilization. Thus, outside of the Sickle, harpy coal is more often used as a recreational drug than as fuel.

The various automata found in Hijinkis runs on harpy coal, and (before its purifying in the ELotH comic book it was the most prolific source of harpy coal in all of Battal.
