Knitting
While ordinary knitting, as we know it in the real world, is quite common. However in many ELotH works, when knitting is referenced, it is often spelled with a capital K, making reference to Knitting.
Knitting is rare in the ELotH; It is no normal mortal skill, as evidenced by the lack of Epicly Wooly Jumpers, a common garment created by Knitters.
Any character Knitting in the series is likely to be a God of some kind, if not even a Hierarch. Other examples are the obligatory Crone at depicted at executions in several books of The Elemenstor Cycle, who will Knit busily, and occasionally Mutter Ominously.
An example of more mundane knitting can be found in the character of Bowler the Knitter-of-Scarfs-with-Cute-Bunnies-on-them.
Discussion
Tim | There are lots of examples of ordinary knitting in Battal.. The Cohoris and others. This looks like an article based on a rant near the end of Book 8 by Glowert the Paranoid. |
Zeta | I think the type of knitting referenced here is about the knitting done by Madame Le Dufrench, in which she used the awesome power of knitting itself to tell the future and plot a revenge that eventually toppled an entire country. |
Tim | Oh! you mean Knitting... not knitting. I've corrected the entry. |
