Near Competance

The capitol of The Vampyre Kingdom and seat of power of the mighty Vampyre Lord Vhadxi during the Vampyric Wars. Known for having no working or service class residents, all residents were members of the Vampyric Army.

When Throbald the Somewhat Addled arrived, in year 997 (TMSK), he found the capitol desserted, with all Vampyre forces deployed to other parts of Battal. Throbald setup an encampment in the city from which he directed the ill-invested efforts of the final two years of the Fumbling Offensive.

Throbald was eventually replaced in an unpopular, bloodless coup with Frank the Breather who was neither a Vampyre nor a military leader, but was able to rally two factions of competing Vampyre gangs and took them out for a night of bowling. See the Ten-Pin Wars.

I'm confused by the use of "capitol" here, which is the actual building, whereas "capital" is the place. Does that mean that "Near Competance" is the name of a city or a building or both? The description is fairly ambiguous, since both can technically be deserted. Plus the [Battle of Near Competence] uses "capital." Help!

likely that it's a castle-city like Teisti
