The Plain Ol' Sword

A plain sword. Quite sharp, and actually a ton more useful than most magical swords, as it slices, dices and can be used to cut a tomato, all without having a smarmy attitude or totally useless magical powers. I mean honestly, who needs a sword that glows? A person who wants to deprive torch makers of money they need to feed their children, that's who.

Gragnakas slipped this blade into the large shipment of swords he was to deliver to King Selent in return for the release of his family. Gragnakas may be the forger, or it could be something he simply took out of his shop, and is one of his apprentices' works. It is unknown as this sword is not special in anyway except being a sharp useful blade that is longer than a knife. Selent had no idea that this was a normal sword, and if he had asked Gragnakas (which he didn't), Gragnakas would have probably murmured something about the sword giving the power to kill the Hierarchs or somesuch. That way the questioner would be killed before finding out it wasn't true.

Sepathok is said to have used this frequently, when he didn't want to "muck around" with magical blades.

Shezdor found this soon after finding the The Gripless Sword and used it instead, as it could actually be used.

The sword eventually come to be owned by the Rusty Knight, who used it in his quest to end enchantment.

Many have claimed that their sword was The Plain Ol' Sword, but upon closer inspection the sword had some sort of magical enchantment or unmentionable curse from ages past. Plain swords are highly sought after by collecters, who feel that if they can't get The Plain Ol' Sword than at least A Plain Ol' Sword ought to work. These plain swords must be guarded against all manner of enchantments. Enchanters abhor a plain sword.
